Kantanka Automobile has introduced its latest invention on the market. The company has manufactured an armored bullion van for banks in the country.
This comes after a bullion van that was on an errand collecting daily sales was attacked at Jamestown leading to the death of the police officer guarding the van and a woman who was reported to have raised alarm about the robbery.
Constable Emmanuel Osei was shot in the head and died on the spot while the other later was chased to a wooden structure and killed.
The driver of the bullion van, however, managed to escape the attack but suffered a few injuries. Two other occupants in the van also survived the attack but were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Well, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. James Oppong Boanuh has urged all the banks in the country to provide fortified armored bullion vans else no police officer will be allowed to risk his or her life while rendering their services.
“The IGP is also reminding the Association of Bankers to provide fortified armored vehicles for carting currencies by the close of June 2021 as earlier agreed between them and the Police Service, else the Police will withdraw its officers for escort duties,” the IGP warned in a statement.
Well, Kantanka Automobile has responded to the call of the IGP as it comes out with a fortified armored bullion van for money transportation.
The news was broken by their CEO, Kwadwo Safo Jnr. on his Twitter page. He wrote; @KantankaAuto Armored bullion vehicle. Your money is SECURED with this. The service personnel is SAFE with this.
