1. Poland is 14th in the European grade and Slovakia 19th, the latter has been more regular beating Russia(21th) and obtaining draws of different significance. Poland instead drew with Russia and also with weaker teams. This match is played at a neutral location (Russia) and will be determinant for the aspirations of being runner up in the group behind Spain.
Poland lost two of their main strikers Piatek and Milik through injury for this tournament and Lewandowski is their only expectation for goals. Slovakia reached to this tournament by play off, they shoudn’t be underestimated. Magpies’ keeper Dubravka, Inter’s Skriniar and Captain Hamsik are Slovakia main driving force. I think they may be a tougher rival for Poland and so i will pick Sloviakia for this match winner.
2. Spain vs Sweden
Spain have the pedigree now which has been earned on the biggest stages in recent years. But they aren’t who they were and will have to work now. They looked laboured losing to Ukraine and drawing 1-1 with Greece, and 1-1 with Switzerland. The final warm up 0-0 with Portugal wasn’t impressive.Sweden, not normally associated with flare and goals, have turned that corner recently and started to shine a little more. A slightly faded Spain and a Swedish team beginning to rise makes it closer than normal. I think both will score.
3. Scotland v Czech Republic
Scotland and Czech Republic differ little in European ranking , respectively 25th and 22. The former has been unbeaten in last 5 drawing with Netherlands but also with Austria and Israel. The latter has been unpredictable losing with Wales away and drawing with the almighty Belgium in WQE games this March. As this match is played at the heart of Scottish football I think location will make the difference – in a match with goals by both sides – to motivate Scotland to win.
4. IFK Mariehamn v HJK Helsinki
This is a simple game with great possibilities. There is no doubt that this game will go to the boys from the capital and it will be by a clear margin.
5. Stabaek v Tromso
I see stabaek winning todays match as the host have two games in hand but are better placed than the visitors in the table.
